Praise for the Finding Purpose Course
Really insightful, very happy to learn my purpose can just be getting the most out of my artistic expression and not necessarily needing to save the world.
This course is short and simple, but with big impact. The questions help you figure out how to spend your time to make your life feel more full. It helped me realize too that I am actually living a purposeful life already, but also taught me how to enhance that purpose moving forward.
There are few courses that actually go deep into answering the question of finding your purpose where you come out the other side with a solid answer, and a plan on how to get there. This is one of those courses. Humor sprinkled throughout and layers of deep questions.
Ultimately I struggled with the “purpose” question for years falling into the common trap of “well I just have to find my purpose.” This course brought clarity, and most importantly, an actionable way to get shit done.
Nice course, and a nice mix of theoretical arguments and practical exercises to do. I will probably return to this course more than once. What inspires me the most is the fact that I can still start doing something when I reach the age of 60 and still be able to master it (if I live long enough). That honestly makes me feel hopeful.
This course made me re-assess a long-held assumption that the way to achieve purpose was to throw myself at a single goal. It provided a single yardstick to measure my life’s value that lacked the “diversification” necessary to maintain a sense of purpose if this measure slipped. Now I make sure to maintain several sources of purpose and have more serenity than ever.
Very good insight and perceptive to the whole noise around “find your purpose” nowadays. Resonate similar thoughts, so was able to connect much easily. Whole concept of ‘Purpose’ is so oversold. Mark here has made a very valid theory around it.
I’ve completed this course in conjunction with the Build a Better Life Course for the third time over a 7-9 month period. They have certainly helped to ascertain the pathway in which I was leaning even though I was very wishy washy at the start. With a lot of help through reading, therapy, and making the effort to carve out time in my day-to-day to do the things important to me, I have come a long way.
I am so grateful I decided to sign up for Mark’s subscription and to start off with this course. For years, years, I always thought purpose was something ordained from the Universe. I bought into the garbage fed to me by countless “gurus” and whatnot. This course was a swift kick in the ass—and long overdue. The exercises are meaningful and help hone what is truly important to you as an individual and with this, helps hone what is purposeful for you. Spoiler: it’s not divinely endowed.
I cannot recommend this course enough to anyone who is feeling lost and unsure of what they’re supposed to be doing with their life. It’s well worth the time and energy and money. Thank you, Mark!
I have done some kind of value test quite often in the last three years. They differed quite a bit… But with the “Finding Purpose” course it was the first time that this whole idea made sense to me. Thank you very much for your thoughts and guidance, Mark!
This was a great course. I was feeling like an unfulfilled hamster on a wheel, and this helped me to do some actual work in order to improve my life. It was in-depth enough to give me great new insight and actionable plans, yet concise and straightforward so I actually completed the course.
This course was insightful in helping me put together the things I find motivating in my life and figuring out why they are. The distinction between value and validation was very helpful in separating what is really good for my well-being long-term and where some of the boundary violations could stem from because I am just looking for validation and not doing things simply because I want to and enjoy them. Doing things for other people’s values is not the right approach, and a better understanding has helped me set some long-term priorities and goals that I know are important to me.
I really enjoyed this course and feel I got a lot of value out of it. For me, I found that the things that I was committing the most mental energy to were actually the things I cared the least about. I really like how it progressively takes you through the process of getting all your ideas down on paper and then methodically narrowing down what actually matters, and providing a good rationale for why it’s being done that way.
